So related to travels.
I don't know what i going to do as of now. I have recently applied for a National Student Exchange Program. I have applied to go to school in Hawaii, at University of Hawaii at Manoa, which is located on Oahu.
I dont know what i am going to do yet, its an experience that i would never forget, i would love the atmosphere, i would love the people, i would love my surroundings.
But...
I dont know if i wanna leave my family, or my boyfriend. I need a change of scenery, a new start in my life, i need to get away from what im used to. I love utah, dont get me wrong, i was born and raised here. But im just not cut out for being in Utah all my life. I love the Ocean, I love to swim, I love the feel of sun screen on my body during those hot days at the pool in the summer.
I feel like I wold be more happy in Hawaii rather than being in Utah. Its just to cold for me to want to walk around, and be dedicated to school.
Hawaii would be a great change for me. A change that I personally think I really need to consider.
The question is....
Will I go?
I miss the feeling of fresh green grass between my toes.
Or the sand as I walk out of the Ocean.
I miss the sound of the waves as they crash next to my room.
I want to go back to Hawaii for the experience of a lifetime.
Sometimes I just gotta take a chance.
A chance, that could change my life...
Forever.
Hey as much as I would love for you to stay and go to school here at the U maybe you should go to Hawaii. I think maybe it will be hard for you to adjust at first but after that you can just look around and notice that you're in Hawaii and forget about everything else. Sometimes it's best to just get away from everything and everyone you know as much as I don't want you to leave :) .
ReplyDeleteI was born and raised in Hawaii (and attended the University of Hawaii, Manoa...long ago). I think you would love it! I moved to Utah to learn to ski. It is a big departure from the Hawaii I grew up in. However, I now consider Utah my second home. I love it that much.
ReplyDeleteIf I, being from Hawaii, can love Utah so much - I'm sure you can love Hawaii as much too. It's a great place to go to school. And you're only a phone call or plane ride away when you miss home.
Whatever you choose, I wish you the best of luck!
Thanks Kalei,
ReplyDeleteThat is so ironic that your from Hawaii and going to school in Utah. I feel like we might need to meet up and have coffee to talk about University of Hawaii. And I love Utah, it will always be my home, but i need a change of scenery :( i feel like im getting bored of Utah. And Ive ALWAYS been in love with the water, I work at a pool in the summer and I already miss my tan!!!!!
Your blog is inspiring and full of life. I love it. I've been thinking along the same lines that I need a change of scenery; my change would be very different though. I'm graduating this year, and since I'm originally from Norway (the land of ice and snow), I'm thinking of moving back there for a bit after I'm done with school. It's a tough time I think in our lives when we're in college 'cuz it's like our roots are growing everywhere--at least that's how it feels sometimes. I guess I'm not leaving my family--rather, I'm going to go see them, live with them, but after 12 years in Utah it has kind of become my home and leaving my friends, let alone boyfriend, here while I wander off for a while isn't the easiest. I'm excited for you though, and I think you should definitely go! I haven't finished your blog so I don't know how it ends, but I think I saw something about you getting in. Am I right?
